How is neuroplastic therapy applied?

The therapy is applied in five steps. It is not a passive "prescription", but an active process of retraining the brain.

1

Medical check-up

Get medical tests to make sure there is nothing urgent or serious. This step is essential and is never skipped.

2

Education

Learn how entrenched neural circuits in the brain can perpetuate our symptoms. This understanding alone reduces fear — and fear is the "fuel" of the cycle.

3

Safety messages

Learn to respond to your symptoms with messages of safety to your subconscious, instead of fear and worry. This interrupts the vicious fear–pain cycle.

4

Expressing emotions

Learn to express your emotions — and especially anger — so that they are not stored and "translated" into a physical symptom by your subconscious.

5

Changing your life

Change your life so that the people around you do not hurt you — set boundaries, take care of your relationships and your needs. A safer environment means a safer brain.

The common thread: all five steps send the brain the same message — "you are safe". When the brain is convinced, the danger circuit weakens and the symptoms recede.
